Michelle Monaghan would 'absolutely love' to make The Family Plan 3
Michelle Monaghan would "absolutely love" to make The Family Plan 3.
The 49-year-old actress starred opposite Mark Wahlberg in the hit 2023 action comedy film for Apple TV Plus and they have since reunited to make a sequel - The Family Plan 2 - which was released last month and now Michelle has admitted she'd be keen to return to make a third installment in The Family Plan series.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: "We’d all love to make a Family Plan 3. I think we’d all sign up for that.
"This is a film series that works, we’ve got an incredible creative team and audiences seem to really love it.
"It’s really nice to be out and about in the world and have families comment to me: 'We’ve watched it three times together. Our kids really love it'.
"I actually just did a little surprise screening for my son’s sixth grade class yesterday, and the kids just loved the film.
"So it’s very fulfilling for me, and if there’s a three in the future, I would absolutely love to do it."
Michelle also revealed she loved working with Mark after previously his character's wife in 2016 thriller Patriots Day.
She said: "Professionally, I knew Mark [Wahlberg], and I already had a great rapport with him. We’d worked years ago [as husband and wife] on the movie Patriots Day, and we had a great time.
"I also have a history with [production company] Skydance [with the Mission: Impossible franchise], and it just felt like all the pieces of the puzzle added up to something that was going to be really successful.
"So the fact that global audiences have related to it and found it really entertaining has been super validating for us, and I was really proud that we got a chance to make a second one."
Mark - who has kids Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, and Grace, 15, with wife Rhea Durham - recently revealed his children love getting to see him "swearing" and "kicking a**" on the big screen now they're old enough to enjoy his films.
He told PEOPLE magazine: "We saw this movie together, we were in Paris, we were all hanging out in Paris.
"I was doing Family Plan 2, and they love this movie [Play Dirty]. So now, they love seeing dad swearing, kicking a** - all the things that they couldn't see when they were kids, they're now allowed to see.
"And I think they enjoy those more."
Mark went on to admit the "biggest sacrifice" of his career is being away from his loved ones when he's filming.
He added: "I think that's the biggest sacrifice, but you know, for me the action stuff is easy. I've kind of I've done it all. I'm not worried about doing my own stunts. I'm more worried about bringing this character to life."
